Techstars Startup Week Fort Collins (FCSW) offers you a wide variety of experienced business people and skill-set experts, who will provide you FREE one-on-one consulting during Techstars Startup Week Fort Collins. These experts are provided by The Innosphere’s SAGE (social advisor group for entrepreneurs) advisor network and the Larimer SBDC (small business development center) consulting network. The SAGE network has core competencies in bioscience, clean energy, and software/IT industries. The Larimer SBDC has competencies in many “main street” businesses such as restaurant/food products, retail, health and wellness, the creative sector, and more. The Innosphere is one of the leading business incubators in the Western US, and the Larimer SBDC consults with over 600 local clients annually. These consultants can also connect you with available useful resources to help you with your ongoing business process.
FCSW attendees can schedule 30 minute consulting sessions from 8:30am through 11:30am Monday 2/25, Wednesday 2/27, or Thursday 2/28.

Amy Alcorn is the Marketing Director at Aspen Grove Marketing. She works to help local businesses connect with their customers through multiple digital marketing channels. One thing Amy loves about social media is it creates a new place for people and businesses to connect.
Amy graduated from CSU with a degree in business administration with concentrations in marketing and finance, and she has been falling in love with Fort Collins ever since.

Kent founded Squarei Technologies, Inc in 1996. They provide cost effective, user friendly application and design solutions ranging from interactive Internet applications to database driven business process and information tracking systems. Their areas of expertise include web application, content management systems, project management solutions, business process automation and database driven applications, as well as e-business solutions, websites, customized e-mail generation, and customer service tracking. Kent received his BS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Miami.

Jim has founded several successful information technology consulting companies that support the healthcare, non-profit membership management/fund raising, insurance, and construction industries.
He has more than 15 years experience as an IT Project Manager, Agile Product Owner and Process Improvement Consultant in the energy and utility environments. His current focus is working with organizations that are trying to improve the effectiveness of project management and organizational change management processes and programs.
Jim has a master’s degree in Communication with an emphasis on Technology and Change from the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs and holds the Prosci Organizational Change Management certification.

Dr. Buccafusca has over 20 year experience in high tech R&D and manufacturing. He led multifunctional teams within profit and non-profit organizations and now provides technical and strategic advice based on that experience. He is currently an Innosphere SAGE advisor and a grant reviewer for the Office of Economic Development and International Trade in the State of Colorado.

Bill is the Executive Director of SAGE, an Advisory network connecting early stage startups to experienced local advisors. A player in two startups himself, he has experienced most aspects of starting up a company.
Bill is a Senior Instructor for leadership and organizational development for Duke University’s Corporate Ed program. He is also a board member for a Colorado Utility Company.
Previously he served as a Director of R&D at the Hewlett-Packard Company
He served in the U.S. Air Force as an Aeronautical Researcher, Assistant Professor at the U.S. Air Force Academy and as an aircraft designer.
His education includes a B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy, M.S. from Stanford University and MBA from Wright State University in Ohio.

As Director of Credit, Lewis monitors portfolio and credit quality. He also manages our Northern Colorado lending activity including consulting with potential applicants about their business plans, performing credit analysis and loan underwriting, and providing ongoing business advisory services to borrowers. Prior to joining CEF in 1994, Lewis was the Director of the Small Business Development Center in Boulder. He is an entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience owning and operating a variety of successful business ventures with special knowledge of the restaurant and food service industry.

Sari Kimbell brings over 20 years of experience in the food industry to the SBDC to work with food-related businesses including value-added product makers, growers and service-based establishments such as restaurants, food trucks and caterers looking to start or expand their business. Her experience in farming, purchasing, wholesale, grocery retail, restaurant front and back of the house, starting her own food business and managing a commissary kitchen gives her an understand of the food industry as a whole. Sari is knowledgeable and experienced in supply chain management, licenses, certifications, profitability, retail and wholesale distribution, packaging, e-commerce, marketing, branding, and sales strategies.
Sari has combined her passion for the food industry with her marketing, event planning and graphic design skills to create a unique niche for her own consulting company working with startups, established businesses and non-profits. Her passion is working with food business start-ups, helping them navigate the business development cycle to launch successfully and business ready to grow and take their business to the next level.

Kristin McMahon is an entrepreneur, speaker and business development coach. With over 10 years mentoring and coaching individuals as they launch their own businesses and is a networking expert with over 25 years of networking experience. Mike O’Connell earned a business degree with a marketing emphasis from Purdue University, and worked in a variety of executive sales, marketing, and business unit management positions, including eleven years with Thermadyne Holdings, North America’s third largest manufacturer of metal cutting and welding equipment. In 2001, O’Connell purchased Mountain Woods Furniture (MWF), a leading national designer/manufacturer of rustic hand-crafted furniture, and co-owned and operated that business until its’ sale in December 2011. MWF’s products were sold through Cabelas, national furniture e-tailers, furniture stores, and to resorts and lodges desiring a rustic style. He provided over 6,000 paychecks to American manufacturing workers during his ownership of MWF.

Pavel Verbsky was born abroad in the Czech Republic. In 2002, he graduated from the University of Economics in Prague with a master in finance and accounting. He has worked in accounting since 2003 when he moved to the USA. In 2005, he joined Rickards, Long & Rulon, LLP in Fort Collins. He enjoys working with business owners, helping them understand how to use accounting information efficiently. Pavel began volunteering for the Larimer SBDC in 2009. His focus is on business startups and helping businesses with any tax reporting challenges.

Rick has over 24 years experience in operations management, program and project management as well as strategy development and execution for multi-billion dollar organizations. He currently runs his own consulting company, So Little Pains Consulting, in Fort Collins, Colorado. Rick has a distinguished career in the US Army. He earned his MA from Johns Hopkins University and his undergraduate degree from the US Naval Academy. Rick served as an Assistant Professor at the US Military Academy at West Point.
